On these days the thousandth client visited Enterprise Development Center in Zhanaozen city based in the branch of the Fund “Damu” in Mangystau Region. The client was a young businesswoman Kamshat Daumcharova, whose business is focused in catering and retail segments.
Kamshat Daumcharova is quite new to business, about a year. She has own cafe "Aksholpan" and a grocery store "Bereket". But currently Kamshat rents the premises and hopes that with the help of the Fund "Damu" she will build her own store. Also she plans to open a mini-bakery. She says that each member of her family is busy with their own business. Her elder brother provides services of sauna and café-bar to the population . Parents are engaged in animal husbandry.
In the Enterprise Development Center (EDC) Kamshat received full consultation on the possibility of obtaining the loan and was informed about the "Business Advisor” project. Currently, 913 994 494 tenge were disbursed under the Special Plan of entrepreneurship development in Zhanaozen on the second point - financing of beginning and existing SMEs, and the third - subsidizing interest rates on loans of STB, STB credit guarantee for entrepreneurs. 21 small and medium businesses received financial resources. On the first point - direct funding of the affected SMEs in Zhanaozen city - all 78 entrepreneurs were covered: funded - 15 people, voluntarily refused for various reasons - 51 people, under consideration - 12.
In order to take comprehensive measures for development of entrepreneurship in Zhanaozen the Government of Kazakhstan approved a Special Plan of entrepreneurship development in Zhanaozen for 2012-2014 years. Plan consists of four main points - "Financial support for affected entrepreneurs", "Financial support for beginning and existing SMEs", "Subsidizing interest rates on loans to STB, STB credit guarantee for entrepreneurs " and "Implementation of partnership program on development of SMEs with " NC "KazMunaiGas" JSC.
EDC in Zhanaozen city was opened in late January 2012, after the tragic events of last December and is the first of its kind in Kazakhstan.
