On July 11 "Damu" Fund employees participated in a seminar-meeting organized by the National Commission of Women and Family - Demographic Policy under the President of RK on the following topic: "Socio-economic development of rural areas: a gender perspective" for women mayors of rural areas in North Kazakhstan region. Seminar was moderated by Anarkhan Dyusenova, Deputy Akim of North Kazakhstan region.
Opportunities to increase the capacity and development of new business in the village with state support, including in the "green economy", the use of energy efficient technologies and renewable energy sources were discussed during the seminar and master classes by women mayors of the rural districts of three regions: North Kazakhstan, Kostanai and Akmola regions.
The heads of government agencies and finance development institutions also participated in the work of seminar.
Rashida Naubetova, manager of the UNDP gender project, mentioned that during the seminar the necessary explanations on local governance, realization of "Business Road Map 2020" and "Employment Roadmap 2020"programs, also presentation of mechanisms for the use of renewable energy sources, development of new directions of small businesses and the involvement of civil society to improve the quality of life in rural areas were provided for workshop participants.
