On 12th of July, in Zhanatas city, Zhambyl region, was held a meeting chaired by Prime Minister Karim Massimov about issues of the Programm of the development monotowns with participation of monotowns akims.
The meeting was also attended by the Minister of Regional Development, Bolat Zhamishev, Vice Minister of Industry and New Technologies Nurlan Sauranbayev, Vice Minister of Economy and Budget Planning Marat Kusaynov, Vice Minister of the Environment and Water Resources Yerlan Nysanbaev, the head of the National Chamber of entrepreneurs Ablay Myrzahmetov and others . "Damu" fund was represented by the Chairwoman of the Board Lyazzat Ibragimova.
The several questions was discussed: the overall implemenatation of program target indicators, issues regarding recovery of monotowns specialization, development of engineering infrastructure of monotowns, increasing the number of active small enterprises, etc.
According to Lyazzat Ibragimova, in 2014 in the framework of program 27.8 billion tenge allocated to the development of the monotowns. As a result of activities, holding in monotowns from 2013 the number of active small enterprises increased to 108% by the end of 2013. At the same time, the number of legal entities increased by 13% in relation to 2011, the number of active IP increased by 8%.
In 2011, 54,944 active subjects was recorded and on 1 of January, 2014 the number is equals to 59 757. For example, in Aksu the number of the legal entities has increased by 4 times, in Ridder - by 37.5%, in Zhanatas 47% (from 21 to 31). Herewith, on the same level in Kurchatov, Arkalyk and Karazhal. High growth is observed in the number of IP in Kentau - 26%, Balkhash - 27% and Zyryanovsk - 28%.
The task for 2015 is to increase the number of active small businesses in monotowns by two times (compared with 2011).
According to the results of meeting, the Prime Minister instructed to:
- National companies in cooperation with the National Chamber of entrepreneurs have to make decisions on possible ways of activating idle plants in monotowns.
- Ministry of Regional Development,in conjuction with government agencies to develop additional measures of state support for monotowns, including the development of small and medium-sized businesses; the allocation of funds for arrangement of monotowns on 2015 and take into account the demolition of dilapidated housing in existing urban areas.
- Ministry of Industry and New Technologies of the Republic of Kazakhstan together with Akimats of regions have to analyze the progress of "anchor investment" projects, before 1st of September of the current year.
